Job summary

Akron Children’s Hospital is seeking an experienced Emergency Department/Urgent Care Staff Nurse Resource Pool II. This full-time, on-site role covers 36 hours per week across 4 nine-hour shifts (9:00 AM–9:30 PM) with travel to multiple UD/UC locations as needed.

You will provide expert nursing care, lead teams, and support pediatric patients and their families. Qualified candidates hold a BSN, Ohio RN license, BLS, and must obtain ACLS, PALS, and TNCC within one year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required or must be obtained within 5 years from date of hire.
• Active licensed RN in the state of Ohio is required.
• Current BLS certification; ACLS, PALS and TNCC to be obtained within 1 year of hire.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate and direct nursing care with a family-centered focus.
• Provide care addressing physical, psychosocial, educational and safety needs.
• Demonstrate leadership and professional duties in the unit.
• Deliver patient-centered care and participate in quality improvement and safety efforts.
• Assist in staff development and may precept new employees.
• Practice evidence-based care and collaborate with providers for quality pediatric care.
• Engage in systems-based practice and informatics/technology duties.
• Temporary assignments may occur across Akron Children’s Hospital enterprise as needed.
• Perform other duties as required.
