Job summary

Akron Children’s Hospital is seeking a Staff Nurse to provide pediatric nursing care in a 36-hour-per-week schedule. The role emphasizes family-centered care, leadership support, and collaboration with the care team in an on-site setting.

The successful candidate will hold a BSN (or obtain within 5 years), maintain an Ohio RN license, and have BLS certification. Experience in healthcare and EPIC EMR usage is preferred to support quality and safety in patient care.

Qualifications

• BSN required or must be obtained within 5 years of hire.
• Current Ohio RN license is required.
• BLS certification required; additional certifications may be required by department.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate and direct nursing care with a family-centered focus.
• Provide care for physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs of patients.
• Perform leadership and professional duties.
• Perform patient-centered care duties.
• Participate in quality improvement and safety duties.
• Support staff education and mentoring as needed.
• Engage in evidence-based practice and clinical excellence.
• Collaborate with providers to ensure efficient operation and quality pediatric care.
• Staff may be temporarily assigned to areas across Akron Children's Hospital as needed.
• Other duties as required.
