Job summary

Akron Children’s Hospital is seeking a Staff Nurse for the Resource Pool I to deliver clinical nursing care across multiple units as needed. The role requires a BSN, active Ohio RN licensure, and BLS, with ACLS/NRP/PALS possible within one year of hire.

The position emphasizes leadership, teamwork, and collaboration with providers to ensure safe, high-quality care for pediatric patients across the enterprise. This is a full-time on-site role with 36 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Requires BSN and Ohio RN licensure with BLS; ACLS/NRP/PALS within 1 year of hire.
• Experience as RN in acute hospital setting preferred; healthcare experience valued.
• Proficiency with MS Office and EPIC or similar EMR system.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care across units as needed.
• Lead, mentor and precept staff; maintain high-quality patient care.
• Deliver patient-centered care and promote family-centered practice.
• Engage in quality improvement, safety, and informatics tasks.
• Collaborate with providers and teams to ensure efficient operation.
• Provide documentation and education for staff and patients.
