Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved nursing school/program.
• RN licensure in TN or compact state upon hire.
• BCLS - Basic Life Support upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care according to medical regime and established standards.
• Triage patients entering the emergency care system and determine priorities of care.
• Performs and documents a thorough history and nursing assessment on all patients categorized as non-emergent.
• Assesses patients, determines nursing diagnosis and priorities for care.
• Documents and completes a focus assessment of each patient and updates as needed.
• Collaborates with PCC, MCT, and physicians to ensure appropriate level of care.
• Demonstrates knowledge and skills to meet age-specific patient needs.
• Determines if a patient should be moved to ED or transferred to appropriate care setting.
• Prepares equipment and assists physician during treatments, procedures and examinations.
• Transports patients, specimens, equipment and supplies as needed.
• Maintains patient medical records and charting; uses patient computer systems.
