Job summary

Regional One Health in Memphis, TN is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room to provide direct patient care under supervision. The role focuses on assessment, planning and evaluating nursing care in alignment with established standards.

The RN will perform clinical duties excluding medication administration, IVs and blood products, and will engage in patient teaching, documentation, and collaborative care with the healthcare team.

Qualifications

• Completion of the course requirements for graduation from an Associate’s Degree, Diploma or Bachelor of Science program in nursing.
• RN licensure in TN or compact state required within 90 days of hire.
• BCLS (Basic Life Support) certification required upon hire.
• Experience in patient care from approved nursing program.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care according to medical regime and the nursing plan appropriate for the patients' conditions and according to established standards, policies and procedures.
• Assesses, plans and implements care of assigned patient consistent with patient care policies and procedures, demonstrated competencies, and with consideration given to risk management, infection control practices and patient safety practices.
• Performs duties specific to clinical area, except administration of medications, IV's and blood/blood products.
• Implements patient teaching outlines including objectives, content, teaching strategies and evaluation of patient progress.
• Documents assessment and other clinical judgments.
• Performs continual clinical assessment and monitors patient clinical status and responses to treatment.
