Job summary

UNC Rex Holly Springs Hospital, part of UNC Health, is hiring a Nursing Assistant I for the Emergency Services unit. The role supports patient care, safety, and orderly workflow in triage, minor treatment, and acute areas on site in Holly Springs, NC.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and NC DHHS Nursing Assistant I or EMT licensure, plus BLS. The position is part-time (24 hours per week) with a daytime schedule, and the pay range is $19.12–$27.17 per hour, with offers determined

Qualifications

• Language: ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Math: ability to add/subtract two-digit numbers and multiply/divide with 10s and 100s using currency, weight, volume, and distance.
• Reasoning: apply common sense to carry out written or verbal instructions and handle problems with multiple variables.

Responsibilities

• Takes and records temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration every 2 hours or as directed.
• Records intake and outputs as directed.
• Performs urinary catheterization or in-and-out Foley procedures and documents accordingly.
• Sets up area for sterile procedure and documents accordingly.
• Performs minor orthopedic splinting under the direction of the physician assistant.
• Documents skin breakdowns and notifies RN.
• Removes IV catheter and documents accordingly.
• Transcribes, documents, and transmits physician orders and other pertinent information.
• Able to work in triage, minor treatment, and acute areas following departmental policy.
