UNC Health Care in Raleigh, NC, is seeking a Nursing Assistant I to support professional caregivers in patient care delivery, transport patients and equipment, and maintain patient rooms. The role includes clerical duties, chart transcription, and unit desk maintenance on a Rex Pre Post Cath unit.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, Nursing Assistant I certification with BLS, and fluent English. Prior experience is not required.

Qualificações

• Must be fluent in verbal and written English.
• Capability to develop computer skills if not competent.
• Nursing Assistant I certification (NC DHHS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification are required.

Responsabilidades

• Assist physicians and other health care providers with routine examinations and procedures and procurement of equipment and supplies.
• Review patient care documentation and report significant changes in the patient’s condition to a nurse or physician.
• Perform clerical tasks: organize workload, greet visitors, transcribe orders, maintain medical records, and conduct QA audits.
• Provide clinical support: clean work area, transport patients/supplies/specimens, and orient new staff.
• Provide direct patient care per plan of care: bathing, feeding, ambulation, vitals, and related tasks.
• Reinforce patient teaching and distribute educational materials to patients and families.
