Job summary

Mount Sinai West invites a Staff Nurse to join the Emergency Department Float Pool. You will deliver direct patient care, perform comprehensive nursing assessments, and collaborate across departments. The role spots a 7am–7:30pm day schedule with weekend rotations and a strong emphasis on discharge planning and teaching.

Ideal candidates hold a BSN, active RN license, and ED telemetry experience. Certifications in NRP, ACLS, BCLS, and PALS are highly valued to support diverse patient needs.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Nursing program with a BSN preferred.
• Current RN license and ongoing professional development.
• Specialized certifications in Neonatal Resuscitation, ACLS, BCLS and PALS.
• Med/Surg Telemetry experience highly preferred for ED float pool.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments through interview, exam, and review of records.
• Document patient progress and adjust care plans accordingly.
• Coordinate discharge planning and inter-department communication.
• Educate patients and families based on their learning needs.
• Provide orientation and mentorship to new staff and students.
• Role model professional behavior and collaborate with the care team.
• Assign patient care with attention to priorities and staff capabilities.
