Job summary

Mount Sinai West in New York is seeking a Staff Nurse for the Emergency Department Float Pool (Night) from 7pm to 7:30am, plus every other weekend. This full-time role supports patient care across ED, demonstrating clinical judgment and teaching as needed.

The position requires BSN or ADN with progression, telemetry experience preferred, and active NYS RN licensure. You will participate in discharge planning, care coordination, and mentoring of new staff within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Nursing program; BSN preferred.
• RN with ADN who is matriculated in a BSN program and graduating within the year.
• Telemetry experience highly preferred; certifications relevant to ED/ICU nursing.
• Certifications: NRP, ACLS, BCLS, PALS as required by departments.

Responsibilities

• Conducts Nursing assessment based on interview, examination, observation and records review.
• Ensures patient progress is reflected in progress notes and revised care plans.
• Discharge planning in line with patient status and inter-department communication.
• Communicates with patient according to learning needs.
• Supports orientation of new staff and acts as a preceptor/mentor.
