Job summary

Qualifications

• BSN required or must be obtained within 5 years from date of hire.
• Current BLS certification required by American Heart Association.
• Licensed as Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Ohio required.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate and direct nursing care with family centered care for individuals or groups of patients within the assigned scope of practice.
• Provide care addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs of patients across age and development.
• Demonstrate leadership and professional duties.
• Deliver patient centered care.
• Engage in quality improvement and safety initiatives.
• Educate staff and mentor new employees in clinically related issues.
• Apply evidence-based practice.
• Collaborate with providers to ensure efficient operation and quality pediatric care.
• Perform systems-based practice and informatics duties.
• Staff may be assigned to areas across Akron Children's Hospital based on patient needs.
