Job summary

Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, IN seeks an Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) for full-time 0.9 FTE (36 hours/week) with mid shift 1p-1a. Welcome bonus eligible up to $35,000. Join a Level 2 Trauma Center with a 38-bed ED and a strong team culture.

The RN provides patient-centered care via assessment, planning, and collaboration with physicians and staff, maintaining safety and quality standards. Prior EMT/Paramedic experience is an asset.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in a clinical nursing role or student clinical rotations in an acute care setting required

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care per nursing process.
• Administers prescribed medications and monitors for side effects.
• Collaborates with physicians and nurses to plan and evaluate care.
• Responds to medical emergencies and participates in CPR and code team activities.
• Documents care promptly in the medical record and adheres to infection control.
• Performs assessments, educates patients and families on discharge plans.
