Job summary

Lutheran Hospital, part of Lutheran Health Network, seeks an Emergency Department Registered Nurse to provide patient-centered care in a Level 2 trauma center. The role supports the ED team with direct bedside care, medication administration, and collaboration with physicians and staff.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in a clinical nursing role or student clinical rotations in an acute care setting required

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with nursing processes and protocols.
• Conducts thorough patient assessments and documents findings accurately, reporting changes to the care team.
• Administers prescribed medications, monitors for side effects, and documents administration.
• Assists physicians during procedures within the scope of competency.
• Collaborates with the care team to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
• Responds to medical emergencies and participates in life-saving interventions (CPR/code team).
• Educates patients and families on conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care.
• Maintains infection control standards and ensures a safe environment for patients and staff.
