Job summary

Northern Nevada Health System is seeking an ER Registered Nurse for the North Valleys ED, a 24/7 acute care unit serving all ages. The ED offers fast-track rooms, ultrasound, CT, X-ray and outpatient lab draws to support swift triage and care.

This part-time role (24 hours/week) provides professional nursing care, coordinates with other disciplines, and ensures patient-centered care with attention to psychosocial and physical needs.

Qualifications

• Current NV RN License is required.
• BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications required or within 6 months of hire.
• Two to three years ED experience preferred; CC experience also considered.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialists as required and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.
• Ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments as per policy.
• Uses triage process to ensure timely and appropriate care to patients. Accurately assigns triage categories.
• Ability to monitor hemodynamic status of patient and correctly interpret the results.
