Job summary

Northern Nevada Health System is hiring an Emergency Department Registered Nurse for North Valleys ER. This part-time role (24 hours per week) provides professional nursing care in a bustling ED that operates 24/7 and serves all ages.

The position requires strong assessment, triage, and collaboration with ED physicians to ensure safe, efficient patient flow. Responsibilities include direct patient care, head-to-toe assessments, pain management, and timely communication with the care team.

Qualifications

• NV RN license required.
• 2-3 years exp in the emergency department preferred or 2-3 years critical care exp.
• Extensive EMS background experience is a plus.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care and evaluates outcomes, coordinating with specialists as needed.
• Performs head-to-toe assessments on diverse patient populations including pediatric to geriatric.
• Uses triage processes to ensure timely and appropriate care and assigns triage categories.
• Monitors hemodynamic status and interprets results, ensuring timely interventions.
