Job summary

Northern Nevada Health System is seeking an Emergency Department RN for a part-time role at North Valleys that operates 24/7 and serves all ages. The ER offers diverse care settings, imaging and lab services, and a fast-track area for triage of less acute cases.

The ideal candidate will have current NV RN licensure, ER or critical care experience, and current BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications. A comprehensive benefits package is provided.

Qualifications

• Current NV RN License
• Two to three years exp in the emergency department preferred OR
• Two to three years critical Care Exp OR
• extensive EMS background experience
• Current BLS Certification
• Current ACLS Certification (within 6 months of hire)
• Current PALS Certification (within 6 months of hire)

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialists as required and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.
• Ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments as per policy. This includes pediatric, adolescent and geriatric patients and the general patient population
• Uses triage process to ensure timely and appropriate care to patients. Accurately assigns triage categories.
• Ability to monitor hemodynamic status of patient and correctly interpret the results.
• Ability to adequately assess and reassess pain. Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques. Educates the patient and family regarding pain management.
