Job summary

Medical City Plano seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for the Emergency Room to deliver patient-centered care in collaboration with the care team. The RN will assess pain, perform procedures, document care, and educate patients and families on condition, treatment, and follow-up.

Responsibilities include prompt care, patient advocacy, and promoting self-management post-discharge, aligned with department standards and organization values.

Qualifications

• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Cour must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
• Trauma Nursing Core Course must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
• (RN) Registered Nurse
• Associate Degree
• Advanced Cardiac Life Spt, or ACLS Instructor must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support, or BCLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt, or PALS Instructor must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• 1+ year prior RN Emergency Room experience required

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management.
• Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s).
• Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Teaches patients/families/caregivers about patient medical condition, treatment plan, medications and follow-up measures.
• Teaches patients/families/caregivers about non-medicinal follow-up measures and self-management.
