Job summary

Day Kimball Health in Putnam, CT is seeking an Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) to join a dynamic team. This 24-hour-per-week position features 8-hour shifts from 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM, with weekends and holidays alternating.

The ED RN will diagnose and respond to health problems and provide emergent, supportive care through the nursing process in a relationship-based model. You will contribute to a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and patient-centered care while growing clinically

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Connecticut RN license required.
• American Heart Association CPR certification or equivalent required; if not certified, obtain within 3 months of employment.
• Additional specialty certification as required by the work area.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, evaluate and communicate all phases of nursing care for ED patients.
• Assess health status via health history and physical examination.
• Initiate procedures, consultations, and lab tests per protocols; adjust plan of care as needed.
• Educate patients on health promotion, disease prevention and management of illnesses.
• Document findings and care plans in medical records.
• Consult with physicians per hospital policy.
• Maintain safe environment and evaluate intervention effectiveness.
