Job summary

Day Kimball Health in Putnam, CT is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Emergency Department team. This 24-hour-per-week role offers 8-hour shifts, a 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM schedule, and the chance to provide emergent, supportive, and restorative care using the nursing process.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing is required.
• Connecticut RN license required.
• American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR or equivalent required; if not certified, must obtain within 3 months of employment.
• Additional specialty certification/training as required by the work area.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, evaluate, and communicate all phases of nursing care for ED patients.
• Assess health status through history and physical exam.
• Initiate therapeutic and diagnostic procedures per protocols.
• Educate patients on health promotion and disease management.
• Document findings and care plans in the medical record.
• Consult with physicians per hospital policy.
• Maintain a safe environment and evaluate interventions' effectiveness.
