Job summary

Sierra Medical Center, part of Northern Nevada Health System, is seeking a qualified Emergency Department Registered Nurse for a full-time role. The position combines frontline patient care with managerial responsibilities, collaborating with physicians, nurse managers, and staff to adapt to changing clinical conditions.

Qualified applicants have 2+ years in ED, an active RN license, and current BCLS certification; ACLS and PALS are required within six months, with ENPC/TNCC optional.

Qualifications

• 2 years ED experience required.
• Current RN license within the state of practice.
• Current BCLS Certification; ACLS within six months of hire; PALS within six months; ENPC and TNCC optional.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care and evaluates outcomes with consults as needed.
• Head-to-toe assessments across age groups with reassessments per policy.
• Educates patients and families on pain management and treatment plans.
• Uses triage process to assign accurate triage categories.
