Job summary

Northern Nevada Health System's North Valleys ER is a 24/7 facility serving all ages, offering fast-track exam rooms and advanced imaging. The part-time ER Registered Nurse will coordinate care across disciplines, triage, assess pain, and respond rapidly to changes in patient condition, ensuring efficient flow and high-quality care.

Ideal candidates will hold NV RN licensure with 2–3 years in emergency or critical care, BLS/ACLS/PALS, and EMS experience.

Qualifications

• Current NV RN License.
• Two to three years exp in the emergency department preferred OR.
• Two to three years critical Care Exp OR.
• Extensive EMS background experience.
• Current BLS Certification.
• Current ACLS Certification (within 6 months of hire).
• Current PALS Certification (within 6 months of hire).

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialists as required and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.
• Ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments as per policy.
• Uses triage process to ensure timely and appropriate care to patients.
• Ability to monitor hemodynamic status of patient and correctly interpret the results.
• Adequately assess and reassess pain and educate patient and family regarding pain management.
