Dupont Hospital, LLC in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking a Part Time ER Registrar for evening shifts (Tue–Thu 4:00p–9:00p and Sat 8:00a–1:00p) to manage patient intake and registration in the Emergency Department.

You will verify personal and insurance information, ensure confidentiality, and provide high-quality customer service while supporting accurate documentation, insurance verification, and cross-team communication.

Formación

• Post-secondary education or training in medical office administration or healthcare administration preferred.
• 0-2 years of experience in healthcare registration or front desk/admissions.
• Experience in customer service is preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Greet patients and families professionally and compassionately.
• Register patients for emergency services and collect required information.
• Verify patient identity and insurance details; update records as needed.
• Explain and obtain signatures on consent forms from patients or families when required.
• Verify insurance coverage and eligibility for billing purposes.
• Collect co-pays or deductibles and inform patients of financial obligations.
• Assist patients with understanding insurance requirements and answer related questions.
• Document thoroughly when the patient cannot sign forms and note nursing sign-off as needed.
• Identify correct insurance plan codes to ensure prompt payment.
• Prepare and organize paperwork for quick retrieval of patient visits.
• Place patient armbands for identification throughout their stay.
• Communicate patient arrival to department or physicians and follow up as needed.
• Maintain communication during emergencies and participate in codes and plans.
• Perform other duties and maintain regular attendance.
