Mountain View Regional Medical Center seeks a full-time ER Registrar to support the Emergency Room Registration department. The role handles patient intake, verifies insurance, and ensures accurate, confidential records while delivering high-quality service to patients and families.

The position involves mid-shift hours and requires the ability to communicate clearly with patients, families, and healthcare teams in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education or training in medical office administration or healthcare administration preferred.
• 0-2 years of experience in a healthcare setting including patient registration, medical office scheduling, or front desk/admissions required.
• 0-2 years of experience in customer service preferred.

Responsabilités

• Greet patients and families in a professional and compassionate manner, ensuring a positive first impression.
• Registers patients for emergency services, obtaining all required personal, insurance, and medical information.
• Verifies patient identification and insurance details, making necessary updates to patient records as needed.
• Obtains patient’s or family member’s signature on consent forms, explaining each consent prior to signing.
• Verifies insurance coverage and eligibility for billing purposes.
• Collects patient co-pays or deductibles when applicable and informs patients of financial obligations.
• Assists patients with understanding insurance requirements and resolves related questions.
• Documents when the patient cannot sign and when a family member or nurse signs off.
• Verifies insurance plan codes for accurate payments.
• Compiles paperwork for quick retrieval of patient visits.
• Places an armband on each patient before they leave the department for proper identification.
• Notifies relevant departments of patient arrival and follows up if waiting too long.
• Maintains communication during emergencies and alerts facility when plans are in place.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
