Job summary

Northern Nevada Health System is seeking a part-time Emergency Department Registered Nurse for North Valleys, part of NNHS. The ED operates 24/7 admitting patients from pediatrics to seniors and offers rapid triage, imaging, and lab services.

You will provide direct patient care, coordinate with ED physicians, and ensure timely response to patient condition changes. Responsibilities include head-to-toe assessments, triage prioritization, pain management, and collaboration with multidisciplinary

Qualifications

• Current NV RN license is required.
• Two to three years ed emergency department experience preferred.
• Two to three years critical care experience preferred.
• Extensive EMS background experience.
• Current BLS Certification.
• Current ACLS Certification (within 6 months of hire).
• Current PALS Certification (within 6 months of hire).

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialists as required and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.
• Ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments as per policy. This includes pediatric, adolescent and geriatric patients and the general patient population.
• Uses triage process to ensure timely and appropriate care to patients. Accurately assigns triage categories.
• Ability to monitor hemodynamic status of patient and correctly interpret the results.
• Ability to adequately assess and reassess pain. Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques. Educates the patient and family regarding pain management.
