Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Massachusetts is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. This non-exempt, full-time role uses the nursing process to plan, deliver, and manage patient care across the continuum from admission to discharge.

The position requires current Massachusetts nursing licensure, BLS, and unit-specific certifications; ACLS/PALS/NRP may be required in select areas. Compensation is hourly, with a hiring range of $47.05–$78.34 per hour and signing bonus eligibility.

Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts Nursing licensure and registration.
• BLS is required for every RN.
• ACLS required in select areas within 6 months.
• PALS required in select areas within 6 months.
• NRP Advanced Provider required in select areas within 6 months.
• BSN highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Uses the Nursing Process for delivering and managing patient care from admission to discharge.
• Performs patient assessment and reassessment according to procedure.
• Develops and coordinates care plans including discharge planning.
• Directs, supervises and evaluates nursing care within the unit.
• Documents patient care and educates patient/family as needed.
• Ensures quality and continuity of care through collaboration with other providers.
• Administers medications, assists procedures and tests as required.
• Participates in governance and professional development.
