Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. The role requires Massachusetts nursing licensure, BLS, and ACLS current certification where applicable.

The RN will provide direct patient care, use the nursing process, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safety and quality outcomes. Responsibilities include patient assessment, discharge planning, care coordination, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts nursing licensure and registration.
• BLS certification is required for every RN unless ACLS certification is current.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the Nursing Process for the delivery and management of patient’s care from Admission to Discharge, appropriate to the developmental age of the patient population.
• Performs patient assessment/reassessment according to standard procedure.
• Develops and coordinates individual plan of care including discharge planning.
• Directs, supervises, coordinates and evaluate nursing care within assigned clinical setting.
• Delegates appropriately to others in accordance with job description and competency level.
• Documents patient care according to standard procedure.
• Develops, implements/coordinates and documents Education Plan for patient/family/significant other.
• Ensures quality and continuity of care through collaboration with other health care providers.
• Administers medications, performs treatments, therapies and operates equipment according to policy and procedure.
