Job summary

Northern Nevada Medical Center in Sparks, NV seeks an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse for a per diem role. You will provide direct and indirect patient care, float to all units as needed, and collaborate with physicians to modify care plans based on patient condition.

The position requires an active NV nursing license, ACLS/BLS and PALS within six months, and a minimum of 2.5 years ER experience.

Qualifications

• NV nursing license current and in good standing.
• ACLS and BLS certificates current.
• PALS certificate to be obtained within six months.
• ER experience: at least 2.5 years.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialists as required and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.
• Ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments as per policy, across age groups and populations.
• Uses triage process to ensure timely and appropriate care to patients and assigns triage categories.
• Assess and reassess pain and educate patients and families on pain management.
