The RN provides care using established models, advocates for patients and families, and supports the department’s performance and mission to ensure excellent outcomes and experiences.

Qualifications

• RN coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in collaboration with the care team.
• Advocates for patients/families and adheres to the organization’s mission and values.
• Maintains safety and quality standards using established nursing models like Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management and reassessment after intervention.
• Performs procedures and documents care in the patient record in a timely manner.
• Responds promptly to patient requests and anticipates needs to resolve issues.
• Teaches patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, and potential side effects; translates complex terms.
• Instructs on non-medicinal follow-up measures (diet, exercise, disease prevention) and prepares patients for future self-management.
