Job summary

Sierra Medical Center, part of Northern Nevada Health System, is seeking an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse for a full-time position in Reno. The role involves delivering high-quality ED care, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and prioritizing patient needs in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements include 2 years of ED experience, active RN license, BCLS, ACLS and PALS (ENPC/TNCC optional). The hospital offers a comprehensive benefits package and sign-on assistance.

Qualifications

• 2 years ED experience required.
• Current RN license within the state of practice.
• Current BCLS Certification.
• ACLS Certification within six months of hire.
• PALS Certification within six months of hire.
• ENPC and TNCC optional.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialists as required and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.
• Ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments as per policy, including pediatric, adolescent and geriatric patients.
• Ability to adequately assess and reassess pain and educate patient and family on pain management.
• Uses triage process to ensure timely and appropriate care, accurately assigns triage categories.
