Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a patient care sitter to support direct patient observation and safety under RN supervision in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Required: High School diploma or GED, Basic Life Support (BLS) within 3 months, and the ability to assist with lifting and patient transport. Rotating weekends/holidays and collaboration with interpreters when needed are part of the role.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 3 months of hire.
• Ability to observe patients and communicate changes clearly to RN.

Responsibilities

• Direct and continuous observation of patient at arm's length.
• Participates in patient rounding as directed by the Registered Nurse.
• Ensures environmental safety for patient and responds to call lights.
• Restocks department supplies and transports patients as needed.
• Completes all required documentation for patient care.
• Communicates changes in patient behavior to the RN.
• Adheres to safety regulations and hospital policies.
