Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician I for the Emergency Department. The role provides patient care under licensed clinicians, assists with daily living activities and mobility, and supports treatments while maintaining safety and clear communication with the nursing team.

Required are a high school diploma or GED and Current Basic Life Support. Prior inpatient/outpatient care experience is valued, with a focus on teamwork and compassionate patient interaction.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school education or GED.
• Current Basic Life Support.
• Demonstrated competency attainment in patient care with relevant experience or training.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English clearly.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under the direction of licensed clinicians.
• Communicate clearly with RNs regarding patient observations and changes.
• Monitor high-risk patients and maintain a safe environment.
• Assist with daily living activities and mobility.
• Support treatments and prepare equipment and supplies as needed.
