Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician I to join our care team. You will assist licensed clinicians, monitor patient conditions, and help with daily activities to support patient comfort and recovery.

Role requires High School diploma or GED, current BLS, and prior PCT I experience. Strong English communication, medical terminology, and calmness under pressure are essential. Signing bonus may be available; talent acquisition will confirm eligibility.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school education or GED.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Demonstrated competency attainment in the Patient Care Technician I level, 800+ hours and at least 6 months as a PCT I.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
• Medical terminology knowledge.
• Basic computer skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills to gather information and provide exceptional service.
• Must be able to remain calm under stress or in emergency situations.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under supervision of licensed clinician.
• Assist with daily living activities and mobility.
• Take and record vital signs and measurements.
• Perform EKGs, point-of-care tests, and specimens handling.
• Support treatments and procedures per nursing instructions.
• Ensure safety and comfort of patients and maintain equipment.
