Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and 1 year of clinical admissions or patient registration experience.
• Proficient in Word and Excel; basic data entry skills.
• Strong communication and customer service abilities.
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to regulations.
• Knowledge of patient throughput workflows and payer guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients, families, and visitors in the Emergency Room with professionalism and empathy.
• Complete timely and accurate patient registration, including demographic, insurance, and financial information.
• Obtain signatures on consent forms, privacy notices, and financial documents per policy.
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits and update records accordingly.
• Collect patient co-pays, deductibles, or deposits and explain financial assistance options.
• Collaborate with clinical and security teams to prioritize patient intake and maintain flow.
• Enter and maintain patient data in the EMR and registration systems, correcting duplicates as needed.
• Respond promptly to inquiries with sensitivity to diverse situations.
• Stay informed on payer guidelines and hospital policies to ensure compliance.
• Support process improvements and assist in training new staff; provide backup when needed.
