Job summary

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma/GED with 1 year of admissions/registration experience, basic MS Word/Excel skills, and strong communication abilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with at least 1 year of clinical admissions/registration experience.
• Knowledge of patient throughput workflows and payer guidelines is preferred.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients and families in the Emergency Room with professionalism and empathy.
• Register patients including demographic, insurance, and financial information accurately.
• Obtain signatures on consent, privacy, and financial forms per policy.
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits; update patient records accordingly.
• Determine and collect co-pays/deductibles; explain financial assistance when needed.
• Collaborate with clinical/security teams to manage patient intake efficiently.
• Enter and maintain data in EMR and registration systems; fix duplicates as needed.
• Respond to inquiries; maintain professional communication and confidentiality.
• Stay informed on payer guidelines and hospital policies; support process improvements.
• Provide backup support to other Patient Access areas during high volume.
