Job summary

Townsen Memorial Hospital in Humble, TX is seeking a Patient Access Representative – ER to join our team. You will serve as a liaison between patients and payers to collect and generate accounts for services provided, ensuring accurate data entry and compliant registration processes.

You will verify insurance, obtain referrals, collect demographics, and secure payments at the point of service while upholding exceptional customer service and HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• One year of experience as an admission representative performing all aspects of the registration process.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certified or must be obtained within thirty days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Verifies insurance benefits for all plans and confirms correct payor and plan in the patient accounting system.
• Obtains insurance referrals and/or authorizations as required and documents authorization/referral numbers.
• Collect, verify, and enter patient demographic information for accurate billing and revenue cycle processing.
• Verify copay information on insurance cards against account records.
• Collect patient payments at the time of service and document amounts and methods.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient privacy throughout registrations and data handling.
• Manage queues and ensure secure patient accounts for billing and reimbursement.
