Job summary

The Queen’s Health Systems in Ewa Beach, HI is seeking a Patient Registrar for the ER to interview patients and guarantors and collect demographics and financial information. This role supports accurate registration and efficient patient flow in a busy emergency department.

You will ensure compliance with government and third‑party payer guidelines, provide admission information to patients and healthcare providers, and maintain courteous, accurate service in a dynamic setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to perform 7,200 adjusted keystrokes per hour.
• 1 year of customer service experience or clerical work in a healthcare setting.
• Experience with Windows OS and software applications such as Word, Excel is preferred.
• Experience with computer-based healthcare applications, EPIC systems preferred.
• Knowledge of requirements for federal, state and private insurance payers is preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receives and interviews patients and/or the responsible guarantors to obtain accurate and complete demographics and financials.
• Ensures that the Medical Center has met government and third party payer guidelines required for reimbursement.
• Provides general information and admission information to customers and healthcare providers as requested.
