Job summary

Diagnostic Laboratory Services in Aiea, HI seeks a Patient Registrar for ER Registration (full-time, 40 hours weekly, rotating shifts). You will interview patients to collect demographics and financials and ensure payer guidelines are followed for reimbursement.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Able to perform 7,200 adjusted keystrokes per hour.
• 1 year customer service or clerical experience in healthcare setting.
• Experience with Windows OS and software such as Word and Excel preferred.
• EPIC systems experience preferred.
• Knowledge of insurance payer requirements (federal, state, private) preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receives and interviews patients and/or guarantors to obtain demographics and financials.
• Ensures compliance with government and third-party payer guidelines for reimbursement.
• Provides general admission information to patients and healthcare providers as requested.
