Qualifications

• High School Equival ent / GED (Required)
• Associate's Degree or progress towards degree (Preferred)
• 1+ years Customer Service (Required)
• 2+ years Customer Service or Customer Service in healthcare (Preferred)
• Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: excellent communication with patients and providers; ability to multitask and maintain confidentiality; detail-oriented and organized; familiarity with electronic health records is a plus

Responsibilities

• Welcome and assist patients and families during Emergency Department visits with empathy and urgency.
• Complete patient registration, check-in, and discharge processes accurately and efficiently.
• Verify and update demographic, insurance, and financial information for timely care and billing accuracy.
• Answer incoming calls, address patient questions, scheduling needs, and inquiries.
• Support patients with MyChart enrollment and other communication tools.
• Communicate important patient information with care team members.
• Process copays, deductibles, coinsurance, and prior balances per guidelines.
• Assist with insurance verification, prior authorizations, and coverage questions.
