Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking a Patient Access Representative for the Roslindale Ops department. Per Diem schedule; candidate will register patients, verify demographics, collect copays, and manage inquiries in a fast-paced Trauma I Emergency Department.

Responsibilities include bedside registration with WOW devices, handling insurance details, and updating records with a patient-centered approach while maintaining HIPAA privacy and collaborating with security and staff as needed.

Qualifications

• Excellent English communication skills (oral and written).
• Must understand computer, office and medical terminology.
• Must be able to explain healthcare issues to patients with empathy.
• Ability to navigate multiple communications tools (phone, email, faxes or mail).

Responsibilities

• Registers patients promptly and courteously.
• Reviews and completes demographic information.
• Obtains necessary signatures on insurance forms and consents.
• Uses WOW technology for bedside registration.
• Handles inquiries and resolves patient questions empathetically.
• Maintains HIPAA and privacy standards in all interactions.
• Records patient information in EHR systems (Epic, etc.).
• Supports downtime procedures and patient tracking.
• Participates in staff meetings and training.
