Job summary

Wellstar Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department (WKD FT Nights) at Kennestone Hospital. You will perform comprehensive nursing assessments, plan and implement care, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team from 7pm to 7am.

The role requires current RN license (US) or compact license, BLS, PALS, TNCC, and ACLS certifications. A diploma/associate degree in nursing is required with preferred BSN, and experience in emergency care is plus.

Qualifications

• Associates Nursing or Diploma (Nurse) Nursing or Bachelors Nursing-Preferred
• All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.
• RN license (Single State) or RN-COMPACT - Multi-state Compact
• BLS - Basic Life Support or ARC-BLS - American Red Cross Basic Life Support or BLS-I - Basic Life Support - Instructor
• PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support or ARC-PALS - American Red Cross Pediatric Advanced Life Support or PALS-I - PALS - Instructor or PALS-P - PALS-Provisional (180 Days) within 180 Days
• TNCC - Trauma Nurse Core Course or ATCN - Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses or TNCC-P - Trauma Nurse Core Course - Provisional (18 Months) within 18 Months
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support or ARC-ALS - American Red Cross Advanced Life Support or ACLS-I - ACLS - Instructor or ACLS-P - ACLS-Provisional (180 Days) within 180 Days

Responsibilities

• Performs Nursing Process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes, planning, implementation, evaluation) using evidence-based practice.
• Provides relationship-based, patient-centered care reflecting cultural diversity.
• Partners with patient and family using bedside shift reports and interdisciplinary rounds.
• Coordinates safe, high-quality care and maintains thorough documentation.
• Participates in performance improvement and shared governance activities.
• Plans for care across the care continuum and develops protocols with care managers and team.
• Supports efficient use of resources and performs other duties as assigned
