Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate in Nursing, Nursing Diploma, or equivalent. BSN preferred.
• Minimum of one (1) year of clinical nursing experience in Emergency Department nursing.
• Basic EKG Competence.
• Certification in Emergency Department Nursing preferred.
• Bilingual skills preferred (Spanish).
• Basic computer skills.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
• Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
• Annual Workplace Violence Prevention Program training required.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in the Emergency Department according to the Watson Model of Care.
• Perform nursing assessment and plan of care, prioritize and coordinate patient care.
• Maintain patient safety and regulatory compliance.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team using SBAR.
• Coordinate discharge planning with Care Managers as needed.
• Supervise and mentor staff and students as assigned.
• Maintain professional appearance and adhere to hospital policies.
