Job summary

MLK Community Healthcare in Los Angeles seeks an experienced RN for the Emergency Department, full-time evenings. The role requires applying the nursing process, patient-focused care, and SBAR hand-offs.

You will participate in discharge planning with care managers and maintain highest standards of patient safety and privacy. Eligible candidates should have an Associate degree in Nursing (BSN preferred), with BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.

Qualifications

• Associate in Nursing, Nursing Diploma, or equivalent. BSN preferred.
• Basic EKG competence and relevant certifications are noted in requirements.
• Bilingual Spanish is preferred; good computer and EMR skills are expected.

Responsibilities

• Apply nursing process to plan and provide patient care.
• Perform focused assessments and adjust care plans accordingly.
• Maintain patient safety and privacy during shift.
• Communicate using SBAR during hand-offs.
• Coordinate discharge planning with care managers.
