Job summary

MLK Community Hospital in Los Angeles, CA seeks an experienced RN for the Emergency Room to cover full-time nights (7pm start) with a $17 differential. The Clinical Staff Nurse provides patient- and family-centered care using Watson Model of Care within a 12-hour shift, reporting to the Clinical Unit Supervisor.

The role requires ED experience, current BLS/ACLS/PALS, EKG competence, and bilingual abilities (Spanish preferred).

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of clinical nursing experience in Emergency Department nursing.
• Basic EKG competence.
• ACLS/BLS/PALS certifications preferred.
• Bilingual skills in Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates nursing process to plan care and meet patient/family needs.
• Perform focused assessments and prioritize care with physician coordination.
• Provide age-appropriate care and apply current evidence to clinical decisions.
• Maintain therapeutic nurse/patient relationships and hourly rounding.
• Communicate using SBAR during hand-offs and document care per policies.
• Coordinate discharge planning with care managers and team members.
