Job summary

MLK Community Healthcare is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department on a part‑time night schedule (7pm shifts). The role requires strong assessment, coordination, and documentation skills to deliver patient‑ and family‑centered care within the Watson Model of Care.

The ideal candidate has ED experience, current BLS/ACLS/PALS, and basic EKG competence. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus; position reports to the ED supervisor at MLK Community Hospital in Los Angeles.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing or nursing diploma; BSN preferred.
• Minimum 1 year ED nursing experience.
• Basic EKG competence required.
• ED nursing certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments and plan care using the nursing process.
• Prioritize and coordinate patient care and discharge planning.
• Document care and communicate changes to physicians.
• Provide patient and family education and support.
