Job summary

Northern Nevada Health System's North Valleys ER is seeking an experienced ED RN to provide professional nursing care around the clock in a high-volume environment. The role includes triage, direct patient care, and coordination with ED physicians.

Qualifications

• Current NV RN License.
• Two to three years in the emergency department preferred.
• Two to three years critical care experience.
• Extensive EMS background experience.
• Current BLS Certification.
• Current ACLS Certification (within 6 months of hire).
• Current PALS Certification (within 6 months of hire).

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialists as required and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.
• Ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments as per policy for pediatric, adolescent and geriatric patients.
• Uses triage process to ensure timely and appropriate care, and accurately assigns triage categories.
• Monitor hemodynamic status and interpret results accurately.
• Assess and reassess pain, educate on pain management and communicate changes to patients and families.
