Job summary

Southern Regional Medical Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department (ED). The role involves delivering safe patient care in Telemetry, directing patient/family teaching, and coordinating with the physician on changes in clinical status.

The position requires an active RN license in the state, BLS/ACLS/PALS (or ENPC) within specified periods, and experience in an acute care or ER setting. Nights, full-time with a sign-on bonus are offered.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Current PALS certificate and/or ENPC 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Minimum of one year experience as a staff nurse RN in an acute care hospital setting; ER setting preferred.
• Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred.
• BSN preferred.
• In Paramedic Base Station ED: MICN within 12 months of hire and maintain current.
• EDAP certified facilities: Completion of emergency pediatric course 1 and 2 within 6 months of hire.
• Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNNC) within 12 months of hire required.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe patient care in Telemetry and ED using the nursing process.
• Direct patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel.
• Maintain standards of professional nursing care.
• Communicate with physicians about changes in patients' condition and test results.
• Ensure privacy and confidentiality in all patient interactions.
