Job summary

Sierra Medical Center, part of Universal Health Services (UHS), seeks an Emergency Dept Registered Nurse for a full‑time role in its 170‑bed acute care hospital with 24/7 ER, cardiology, oncology, L&D, NICU and more. The position blends clinical and managerial duties, including staff hiring and rapid response to changing patient conditions.

As a team member you will work with physicians and Nurse Manager/Director, providing direct care, evaluating outcomes and ensuring timely, quality care.

Qualifications

2 years ED experience required.
Current RN license within the state of practice.
Current BCLS Certification.
ACLS Certified within six (6) months of hire.
PALS within six (6) months of hire.
ENPC and TNCC optional.

Responsibilities

Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialists as required and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.
Ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments as per policy.
Ability to adequately assess and reassess pain. Educates the patient and family regarding pain management.
Uses triage process to ensure timely and appropriate care to patients.
