Job summary

Sierra Medical Center, part of Universal Health Services, seeks a part-time Emergency Department Registered Nurse to provide direct and indirect patient care in a fast-paced setting.

You will participate in hiring of staff, communicate with physicians and care teams, and respond quickly to changes in patient condition. This role offers full benefits and flexible scheduling within the hospital's emergency department in Nevada.

Qualifications

• 2 years ED experience required
• Current RN license within the state of practice.
• Current BCLS Certification.
• ACLS Certified within six (6) months of hire.
• PALS within six (6) months of hire.
• ENPC and TNCC optional.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialists as required and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.
• Ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments as per policy.
• Ability to adequately assess and reassess pain. Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques. Educates the patient and family regarding pain management.
• Uses triage process to ensure timely and appropriate care to patients. Accurately assigns triage categories.
