Job summary

Backus Hospital in Connecticut seeks an Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) to join a collaborative, patient-centered team. Under supervision, you will apply nursing processes to develop comprehensive care plans respecting diverse patient needs.

The ideal candidate is a graduate of an accredited nursing program, has CT RN licensure, and 1+ year ED experience with BLS; ACLS/TNCC/PALS/CPI certifications or the ability to obtain within 90 days are required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved nursing program with CT license in good standing.
• Minimum 1 year RN experience; Backus Nurse Residency preferred.
• Current BLS required; ACLS/TNCC/PALS/CPI certifications or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Ability to obtain moderate sedation administration within 9 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered care in a collaborative ED setting.
• Utilize evidence-based nursing processes to develop and implement care plans.
• Work with interdisciplinary teams to meet physical, emotional and cultural needs.
