Job summary

Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department to provide high-quality, patient/family centered care in a 12-hour shift environment.

The role emphasizes nursing process, independent assessment, and proactive coordination with Care Managers and multidisciplinary teams. The ideal candidate will hold an active California nursing license, have at least one year in Emergency Department nursing, and may possess BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate in Nursing, Nursing Diploma, or equivalent. BSN preferred.
• Minimum of one (1) year of clinical nursing experience in Emergency Department nursing; MLKCH Nurse Residency/Transition Fellows programs may be considered.
• Current California Nursing license. Basic EKG Competence; Certification in Emergency Department Nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality, individualized patient/family centered care.
• Prioritize and organize patient care; ensure follow-through with planned care.
• Communicate SBAR in all hand-off situations and document care (assessment, plan, implementation, evaluation).
• Coordinate interdisciplinary discharge planning for a defined patient population.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and comply with regulatory standards; participate in quality/performance improvement.
