Job summary

Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. The role emphasizes 12-hour shifts, organized care planning, and a patient/family-centered approach using the Watson Model of Care.

The incumbent will demonstrate clinical expertise, ensure timely assessments, and participate in discharge planning while maintaining regulatory standards and a safe environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one (1) year of clinical nursing experience in Emergency Department nursing.
• Current California Nursing license.
• Basic EKG Competence; Certification in Emergency Department Nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality, patient/family-centered care based on the Watson Model of Care.
• Perform nursing assessments and develop care plans; communicate changes to physicians.
• Prioritize and coordinate patient care, ensuring documentation and handoffs follow SBAR.
• Coordinate discharge planning with Care Managers and ensure unit readiness for patient care.
